Anamaria Marina is an Romanian actress. She won with the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress for The Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. She is fluent in French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her father is a director of the theater at one of the best Romanian theater schools. Awarded the Best Female Actor Award in 2000 at the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors. In 2008, she was recognized as a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. Her performance in Romanian art film 4 months 3 Weeks, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days is remembered as well. The film won her many awards such as being awarded the European Film Award Best Actress for London Film Critics. Her role as a character in Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film, 4 months 3 weeks and 2 zile (4 months 3 weeks and 2 days), won both three weeks and a day. Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two other awards, the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also a major part of her career. In 2008 she was the character Yasim anwar in the BBC Mini-Series The Last Enemy. Marinca played roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as also in the Romanian film Boogie. Later she as Irma's German Aunt in Fury, which was released in 2014.
